Christian Rapper Convicted Of Killing His Producer

A dispute between Christian rapper Ryan Anthony Salandy and producer William Dean McDaniel has left McDaniel dead and Salandy in jail for the next 18 years.

Last year, McDaniel was supposed to burn 150 gospel rap CDs for Salandy for the fee of $300. But on Sept. 24, 2015 Salandy sent a series of texts message to McDaniel -- who also had produced some of his music -- that suggested something had gone amiss.

1:21 p.m. – “When can I get my CDs?” 4:51 p.m. – “I’m going to f*** you up when I see you.” 8:23 p.m. – “We’re gonna see each other some day b**** boy. U better get me my s*** before it’s too late.”
Additionally, he threatened McDaniel on Facebook over that time period.

The next day they had a loud argument outside of McDaniel's Clarksburg, Maryland house. Following that, Salandy ran McDaniel over with his car, killing the 25 year old. Investigators say he struck him at between 37 and 49 MPH without braking, and then drove away without calling 911.

Salandy was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Monday, with 12 years suspended.
