Vanessa Carlton's smash hit "A Thousand Miles" still gets plenty of spins 17 years after it dropped.
Chris Brown tried to show the epic pop song some love by putting on his IG page. But Carlton wasn't feeling Brown's co-sign because it came on International Women's Day and Brown is one of the world's most notorious domestic abusers.
"Today Chris Brown posted my video. I am now being repeatedly tagged to his account. Being that today is International Women's Day I feel compelled to draw a line." Carlton wrote. "I support survivors not perpetrators of domestic violence. I do not want to be associated with an artist that has assaulted women on a day like today. Thank you #internationalwomensday."
Brown responded by telling Carlton he still loves the song but hates that she's spreading hate.
He took down the original post -- which was of the music video -- and added the clip of the song from the movie White Chicks, which is where a lot Chris Brown fans may know it from.
Should people let Chris Brown breathe, or are his sins against Rihanna a permanent mark?
