Alabama rapper Chika is hardly known to bite her tongue, as she once got a lot of attention for saying that male rappers don't get criticized as harshly as female rappers. She's also gotten credit for her lyrical skills and being nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammys this year.
But the 2020 XXL Freshman said she's retiring after getting a lot of online hate. Last month Chika was accused of shading Selena Gomez and the pop singer's fans still haven't let up on her.

“Today, I shared that I was thinking of retiring because the mental toll being in the industry has taken on me is not something you bounce back from easily,” wrote Chika. “I’ve told my team, I’ve told my therapist, I’ve told friends and acquaintances. Today I told Twitter. What followed was a hoard of psychotic fans rejoicing in the decline of my mental health, harassing me as if I spoke to them first.”
Cardi B, who knows a little something about online hate, responded to Chika's message and sent her some positive words.
