J. Cole's reign as the king of 2018 won't last very long.
Cole's KOD moved 395K SPS streaming last week, the biggest opening of the year.
However, Post Malone's new album Beerbongs and Bentelys is now projected to do 440-460k SPS with 155-165k of those pure album sales.
In addition, Post has busted all of Spotify's first day streaming records. (Which Cole also happened to hold for a week.)
Cheers to @PostMalone 🍻

'beerbongs & bentleys' has broken the first-day streaming record both globally (78,744,748) and in the U.S. (47,930,039) https://t.co/55Q4EGK0NL pic.twitter.com/f70PREqqlM
The other big rap release on Friday was NBA Youngboy's debut Until Death Call My Name. It's projected for a 30-35k opening frame.
If you count all the spins Beerbongs & Bentleys got before the album dropped ("Rockstar", "Psycho" etc.) it's already gone platinum.
Does Post's performance put him among Hip Hop's elite?
