Check The First Week Projections For Eminem's 'Revival'

by HHL JT

Eminem is still a big seller.

But he's no longer an elite seller.

Hits Daily Double projects his ninth album Revival will move 280K to 300K in its first week, with 190 to 200K in traditional sales.

That will be by far his worst opening since his The Slim Shady LP sold 283k in its first week in March of 1999.  The 45-year old's last album, 2013's The Marshall Mathers LP 2, did 792K first week.

It also means Em's no longer top dog in the rap sales game. Kendrick Lamar's Damn. did 603K SPS and 353K traditional in its first week earlier this year and Drake has topped Revival's projected numbers with his last several projects and crushed it with his last proper album.

Shady is even further from the head of the pop music class he's always been enrolled in. Last month, Taylor Swift's Reputation did 1.238 million in its opening frame with 1.216 million traditional.

Revival will still open this week on top of the album chart. G-Eazy's The Beautiful & Damned will be number 2 with 135-155k SPS and 85-95k traditional in its first week.

Jeezy's Pressure will be further down the list with a 55-65k, 35-40k debut and N.E.R.D.'s No-One Ever Really Dies will limp onto the charts at 16-21k, 9-12k.

What do you think about Eminem's numbers?
