Childish Gambino's suprisish album Awaken, My Love is headed for a solid opening week.
However, it's going to be solidly beat by a rap album that isn't really on most rap fans radar.
Hits Daily Double projects Gambino's third album will move between 85K and 95K SPS during its first seven days, which should be good for third on the album chart.
It should trail classic rock legends The Rolling Stone's all-cover album Blue and Lonesome (90-100K) and The Hamilton Mixtape, which is set to win the week with 190K - 200K.
The soundtrack to the Broadway play Hamilton features Nas, The Roots, Joell Ortiz, Chance the Rapper, Busta Ryhmes, John Legend and more. The dust up between President Elect Trump and the cast of Hamilton probably gave the "tape" a nice sales bump.
Speaking of Legend, his Darkness and Light album is projected to do between 35K and 40K its opening week.
Have you heard any good albums this week?
