Megan Thee Stallion's new album Good News drops on Friday, Nov. 20, so she's been doing press, including a cover story for GQ.
In that article, Megan talked about Tory Lanez shooting her and said that he tried to pay her off to keep silent.
DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God have a problem with Megan talking about the shooting with GQ and not with them. She was supposed to be on their show The Breakfast Club to talk about Good News, and the hosts were told they weren't allowed to speak about Tory, which they think is wrong. [Jump to 1:37 mark].
“I think it’s crazy because when she does White publications, she’s able to talk about everything she wants to talk about. But when she goes to the Black press and Black publications, there’s a list that the label sends out – ‘Don’t ask her about this. Don’t talk about this. Don’t talk about that,'" said Envy. "But we’re the ones that support her and hold her down.”
“I’m positive it’s not her," added Charlamagne. "I just think it’s wack when her representatives do that … At least talk with your people, because you’re comfortable with your people. Them White people are just using you for a story.”
Do you think there's any truth to what The Breakfast Club hosts said? Is Megan being used?
