A couple of months ago, some people from Chicago wanted Chance The Rapper to run for mayor of the city, and they even created a website called chano4mayor.com to get the ball rolling. They also set up a Twitter account named @chano4mayor2k19.
Although the rapper doing all kinds of good deeds for Chicago, including raising $2 million for the local school system, he told Ebony magazine that he has no interest in becoming a politician.
"I would never run for any office or government position," said Chance. "I'm not into it. I think politics is a reason why a lot of stuff doesn't get done. There's a lot of favors and a lot of people are held back by their intentions or being re-elected or the things that they owe their party or constituents. I think when you're in my position as an artist, I can say what I want and talk about the issues that matter."Do you agree? Can an artist create more positive change than someone in elected office?
