Can Tyler, The Creator's 'Chromakopia' Finish Number One On a Short Week?

by HHL JT

Tyler, The Creator decided to release his Chromakopia album on Monday rather than the typical Friday.

"I know people think because of the weekend you can listen to stuff and streams go up," he explained.  "But I think it's a lot of passive listening at parties or people go to the gym, so they are not really listening ...  If you put it out during the week, man that commute to work or school, you really have that hour or thirty minutes to really ‘dive in’ and really listen."

The downside of that, for a chart-minded artist, is that it only gives you four days to compete on the Billboard chart.

Despite that disadvantage, Tyler may still have another number album.

HitsDailyDouble is projecting Hasley's album The Great Impersonator is set for a 80-100K first week.  They don't have a proper projection for Chromakipia yet since it just dropped last night.

But HDD is seeing early signs that Tyler could best Halsey, grab number one, and have his cake and eat it too.
