Many reacted in shock at the news of Tom Brady leaving the New England Patriots and signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this year.
There seems to be the same kind of big reaction to Cam Newton taking Brady's place. ESPN reports that he signed a one-year deal with the Pats for $7.5 million.
Newton will join Bill Belichick and crew as a 31-year-old. The quarterback has been plagued with injuries, in particular to his shoulder, in recent years as a member of the Carolina Panthers.
He also fractured his left foot in the 2019 preseason and only played in two games last year. Newton started with the Panthers in 2011 and took them to the Super Bowl in 2015. He was given permission by the team to seek a trade in Marc and released when no trade was offered.
Do you think Newton will end up starting for the Patriots? If so, how will he do?
