Padge-Victoria Windslowe, a transgender hip hop artist who's been on trial for killing a dancer with an illegal butt injection, was convicted of murder today.
In 2011 Windslowe, who goes by the name "Black Madam," injected break dancer Claudia Aderotimi's buttocks with a silicon-based concoction. The needle ended up hitting one of Aderotim veins, sending the chemical to her lungs and killing her days later.
During the trial, Windlslowe tried to paint the incident as an anomaly, calling herself the "Michelangelo of buttocks injections," and bragging about all of her satifisfied customers. That would include Amber Rose, whom she called a "walking billboard" for her booty-enhancing services.
Windslowe, 45, also claimed in court that Nicki Minaj had been schedule for an appointment but never showed up. Neither Rose nor Minaj have commented on her testimony.
Jurors could have convicted Windlsowe of either third-degree murder or involuntary manslaughter.
They opted for the more serious charge. In addition, they found her guilty of two weapons charges, and also aggravated assault in another case in which a "patient" got sick but didn't die.
Sentencing is set for June 11.
