Brandy was in a horrible car accident in 2006 that took the life of a 38-year-old woman named Awatef Aboudihaj.
It was obviously a dark time for the victim's family and also for the singer. In fact, Brandy admitted to wanting to commit suicide around that time but having a daughter stopped her.
"I remember laying in bed super depressed,” she told People. “I [told] myself, 'So, you’re just going to go out like this? That’s wack. You have a daughter. If you can’t do it for yourself, do it for her because this is not the way to leave a mark in her life' ... If Sy'rai wasn’t here, I wouldn't be either. The place that I was in, it just felt like I wasn't going to make it through."
Brandy shot to fame in 1994 after her debut album came out, but over the years it seems that her brother Ray J has become more popular and financially well-off.
There was also that one time that no one seemed to recognize Brandy when she sang on a New York City subway years ago.
She dropped her latest album B7 last month.
