At one point, Hot 97's Funk Flex was purely associated with playing hot music and breaking new artists. But these days he's kind of known for stirring up controversy and taking on rappers. In the past couple of years, he's had very public feuds with Jay Z and Drake.
This time around, the 48-year-old went after Bow Wow, and in a recent tweet he dissed the rap veteran's music and said it was horrible.
"FYI, Bow Wow is fucking finished out here," wrote Flex. "His records is trash."
"Should @Hot97 fire Funk Flex and hire new, fresh, hungry DJs from NYC?" he tweeted.Then Bow got really personal and went extremely hard at the longtime record spinner.
"Flex, you gotta chill," he wrote. "You gone' fuck around and die of a heart attack fucking with me. You too old, champ. I don't know what you and Monica got going on at home, but keep that shit in the house and stop shoving her to the ground and keep my name out your mouth, Aston Taylor. Your name is Aston."And Bow Wow didn't stop there.
"You lie about the records you play," he continued. "You scream more than a bitch delivering a new born. You wearing the same orange NYC fitted since Coogi was hot," he wrote.Although their exchange may seem out of left field, it's actually not the first time that Flex and Bow went toe-to-toe. In August of 2015, the Bronx native blasted the rapper for telling folks he bought a house in the Hollywood Hills when it was later found out that he was renting it.
In this most recent argument, Flex hasn't responded to Bow Wow yet. But he probably will at some point, so we'll have to see how many rounds this new back-and-forth will go.
