50 Cent isn't the only one pissed that CBS This Morning anchor (and Oprah BFF) Gayle King brought up the 2003 rape case against Kobe Bryant in her interview with WNBA star Lisa Leslie.
"Gayle King, why the f*ck would you bring that up. I don't give a f*ck whose friend she is. I don't care if she's Obama's friend. Why the f*ck would you do something like that. Why would you do that to your people? You know what people going through? Why would you ask a question like that, trying to tarnish someone's image? You do that to your own black people. You sad. I'm gonna fire your ass up ... Black people need to stop trying to hurt black people for success. You asked that question to get your numbers up."
The rape charge against Kobe was dismissed when the accuser refused to testify. Kobe settled with the accuser out of court and apologized while saying he didn't believe he raped her.
Do you think King asked the question because she wanted ratings or was practicing journalism?
King has said she is angry at CBS for highlighting that part of the interview.
“I’ve been up reading the comments about the interview I did with Lisa Leslie about Kobe Bryant, and I know that if I had only seen the clip that you saw, I’d be extremely angry with me too,” Gayle King said on Instagram. “I am mortified. I am embarrassed and I am very angry. Unbeknownst to me, my network put up a clip from a very wide-ranging interview — totally taken out of context — and when you see it that way, it’s very jarring. It’s jarring to me. I didn’t even know anything about it.”
