Bobby Shmurda's Manager Mom Explains Why He Thinks He's Not Getting Paid

by HHL Editors

Earlier this week, Bobby Shmurda jumped on social media to complain he's not getting paid for his shows. Although we all thought he was directing the rant toward his record company, he may have actually been whining to his mom, Leslie Pollard, who's also his manager.

Pollard clarified her son's financial situation in an interview with Billboard.

"It’s not that he’s not getting paid, it’s that he’s new to the business," she told Billboard. "There’s a chain of command that he has to go through before he gets his payment. I guess he’s thinking all the money should go from the front man to his hands—it doesn't work like that. Of course they hold onto it so he actually does the show. Then it goes to his business manager, then to the touring accountant and then to him."

She also called the (since deleted) Instagram post on which little Bobby claimed he wasn't getting any green for his on-stage Shmoneying as "just impulse talking," and added that the issue has been resolved.

In other words, the 20-year old Shmurda gets an allowance from his mom, which she may have just docked.
