Bobby Shmurda pled guilty to one count of attempted promoting of prison contraband today and will serve 1.3 to four years in state prison. The sentence will run concurrent to the seven years he got last year when he pled guilty to conspiracy and weapons charges.
In 2015, a female friend of Shmurda passed him a sharp object during a Rikers Island visit. Bobby was caught with the shank, and charged with promoting prison contraband, perjury and criminal possession of a weapon.
As part of his plea today he'll be barred from voting or serving on a jury once he's released.
He should be eligible for parole on the original charges in about six years.
While that's no picnic, it's a lot better than what's been happening to the other GS9 members who were busted with Bobby in late 2014.
In 2016, 'Hot Nigga’ name drops Rashid ‘Rasha’ Derissant and Alex ‘A-Rod’ Crandon got 98 and 53 years, respectively. Last month Santino Boderick was sentenced to 130 years.
