Run DMC member Jam Master Jay was murdered in 2002.

His accused killers, Karl Jordan Jr. and Ronald Washington, will finally go to trial in February of 2023.

Jay had fallen on hard times after Run DMC's popularity waned and had turned to drug dealing to get back the lifestyle he once had.

Federal prosecutors allege that Jay was dealing coke on behalf of the Black Mafia Family when he was snuffed out by rival dealers.

As such, they have subpoenaed BMF co-founder Terry "Southwest T"  Flenory.

Flenory got out of prison in 2020 because of COVID, six years early on a 30-year bid.  His more famous brother Big Meech remains locked up and should be out around 2026.
