Birdman Sues To Save His Miami Mansion

by HHL JT

Birdman lost possession of his palatial Miami estate earlier this year because, in a classic Baby move, he wasn't paying his mortgage.

EMG Transfer Agent, who currently hold the $12.5 million loan, filed a foreclosure lawsuit against Birdman to recover the property and Birdman was forced to hand over his keys. The next step would be a court-appointed executor taking control of the residence and all of its contracts, leases, rental agreements, fixtures, furniture, and equipment.

But Birdman is trying to head that off with a lawsuit of his own. He's suing his insurance company Lloyd's of London, claiming they didn't do the right thing by him when Hurricane Irma hit South Florida in September of 2017 and caused wind and water damage to the 7-bed 11-bath 20,000 sq ft compound.

In the suit, Birdman claims Lloyd's “failed and underpaid benefits necessary to repair" the property. He's asking for unspecified damages and attorney fees.
