"Hip Hop 50, right?" he told retired NBA player Jalen Rose. "I still say that they don’t compliment the south enough for me, and I don’t respect that sh*t about what they doing in Hip Hop and I never will respect it, ’cause the south paved a big wave of keeping Hip Hop alive. And I don’t think they compliment us enough ... The south doesn’t get the respect that we deserve. That’s just my opinion and f*ck who don’t like it."
The 54-year-old spoke about southern rap a few months ago as well, saying it will always remain on top. Plus, he said East and West coast rap will never reign again.
"We here forever, 'cause they had it forever, like the East and the West, they had it forever," he told The 85 South Show back then. "Ain’t nothing but love for the East and the West but us southern n*ggas, we ain’t never letting that go."
