Every few weeks there's a story about a major artist popping off about their label. The most recent being Megan Thee Stallion.
During his stop on the Hot Ones, Big Sean explained why that is. [Jump to five minutes.]
"I love my label," he established with a smile. "Signed to Def Jam, signed to GOOD music, both are labels of my first choice, too."
Then Sean expanded upon why he thinks labor-management conflict is more prevalent in the music industry than it is in Hollywood and pro sports -- and it's not just because actors and athletes get better contracts.
“I think musicians are, like, expressive, too,” Big Sean continued. “We have the voice. Athletes do too, but that’s what we do. We express ourselves. We’ll go on rants. Our heart is wide open. I make music to hopefully inspire people, to help them get through something — or to get to the next level, to get to that better version of themselves. I can see why artists, maybe — especially musicians — are passionate and talk they sh*t, to get it off their chest.”
