In 1995 Outkast won Best New Rap Group at the Source Awards and got booed by the crowd.
During their acceptance speech, Andre said, "The South got something to say," words that would go down in history.
It was also a time when tensions were high between East and West coast rappers, something that Big Boi talked about during a recent interview with Kyle Brandt.
The OutKast legend said he wasn't worried about a fight breaking out during the ceremony, because he and Andre were covered.
"It was thick in there. It was a lot of beef going on," he explained. "You just thought it would have been a stabbing or a shootout at any time ... We were just right there in the middle of it like, 'A wish a motherf*cker would.' We was deep in there ... We had people up there that took care of us and you know, sh*t, we got hands, too ... Like, ain't nobody finna just get beat up. Not never."
Any response to Big Boi's interview?
