B.G. was arrested in 2009 for multiple weapons and illegal drug charges and was eventually sentenced to 14 years in prison for gun possession and witness tampering charges.
He should get out in 2024.
Last month, he tried to get out a couple of years early because his health issues (heart problems) make him susceptible to COVID. But his bid for compassionate release fell short even with letters of support from public figures such as Birdman, Slim, Wendy Day, Gary Payton Sr.
"Dorsey complains of an outbreak of COVID-19 cases at his facility, but BOP’s website currently lists zero positive cases among inmates out of a total inmate population of 960 and one positive case among staff," US District judge Susie Morgan wrote while rejecting his bid.
B.G. handwrote the rejected motion himself and blasted his former lawyer for making "incompetent" arguments in his prior motions for early release.
Now B.G. will have a couple of more years to catch up on his law.
