Benny The Butcher Says J. Cole Made The Right Move By Bowing Out Of Big Three Battle

by Daryl Nelson

The battle between Kendrick Lamar and Drake went from who could out-rhyme each other to who had the juiciest gossip.

Drake accused Kendrick of beating his longtime partner Whitney Alford, and the Compton rhymer accused him of pedophilia.

So, the way Benny the Butcher sees it, J. Cole made the right call by leaving the battle before those accusations were hurled.

In April, the Dreamville rapper apologized to Kendrick for dissing him in the song "7 Minute Drill," and he received an online beating for his decision.

Benny The Butcher says he doesn't blame J. Cole for not wanting to be part of this Kendrick Lamar and Drake rap battle because it's gossipy.

"That’s my dog," Benny said about Cole. "Honestly, you can see how gossipy and everything that this battle’s turned into ... Do you blame him for not wanting to be a part of this at this moment? Do you blame him? I don’t. I probably would’ve went about it in a different way, but it’s like a gossip battle ... It’s not like a rap battle, it’s like a telling-each-other’s-business type of thing so I wouldn’t want to be a part of that."

Is Benny right about Cole?
