Benny The Butcher Responds To Claim That J. Cole Dissed Him

by Daryl Nelson

J. Cole was accused of throwing shots at Benny The Butcher on Benny's song "Johnny P’s Caddy" with lines like these:

"Of course I'm tryin' to revive a sport that's dyin' / But the guns and the drug bars that y'all relyin.'"

"Cole World, the heat'll blast through your speaker / He the last of Mohicans, no weaklings last in my sneakers / N*gga want me on a song, he gon' see the wrath of the reaper."

So, Benny responded to the  claim on his song "The Blue Building," off his new Summertime Butch album.

"Trolls tell me I got dissed by Cole on my record / I’m like, 'Is y’all slow?' That’s my n*gga / We having hour-long conversations from home / I’m picking his brain on my way to the throne, I ain’t no dumb n*gga / I ain’t get here focusing on figures alone, I played more of the distributor role / He told me, 'Butch, if you see yourself winning, you got a vision to throw.'"

So, there you have it.

Also, have you listened to Summertime Butch? If so, how would you rate it?
