Among the many disses and wild statements that Kanye West made during his interview on Drink Champs last week, he mentioned that Beanie Sigel came up with the Yeezy name.
Yeezy, of course, is one of Kanye's monikers and the name of his fashion brand.

"People who took a liking to me in volatile situations would always give me a nickname so it seemed like I was cool like them," Ye explained during his interview. "My boy Mali who used to sell guns, he called me K-Rock when I would be on 79th and stuff like that ... [Yeezy] was Beanie’s name for me when I was in Baseline [Studios]. Like on some, ‘Oh, that’s Yeezy,’ make him one of us ... I still owe Beanie money and I’ve been trying to give him this money for a minute. I’m like, ‘This man made up the name.’ It’s like the lady who made the Nike swoosh, Phil Knight made sure she was straight."
Beanie spoke about Kanye mentioning his name while at an event in his hometown of Philly and he said the DONDA rapper is going to compensate him in a major way for coming up with the Yeezy name.

“I got a phone call from the motherf*cker the other day," said Beans. "He said Sig gon’ get $50 million and a five percent stock in Yeezy. And I don’t know if n*ggas know, Yeezy’s did $1.7 billion last year.”
