For the second time in a few weeks, rape-promoting lyrics from Rich Homie Quan are causing controversy.
Back in May, RHQ apologized for his bars on 'I Made It', which included the line 'Don’t want your ho, just want that cookie from her/She tried to resist so I took it from her.'
Quan said the track -- which was part of a giant leak -- wasn't finished and was never meant for the public.
Now another song from the leak with even more explicit rape lyrics has emerged. "Mansion full of bitches, 'bout to rape one," RHQ raps in 'Day One.'
Expect an apology from Quan shortly.
The backlash against any type of rape lyrics in Hip Hop has suddenly become quite powerful. On Friday, Action Bronson was removed from headlining a Toronto festival because of (fairly ambiguous) rape lyrics on a four year old track that he had never performed live.
What do you think? Is this push back for the greater good? Or is it a little strange when rappers can still advocate murder, figuratively and literally, with impunity?
