Alabama Barker Breaks Down Why She Belongs In Hip Hop

Some have said that Black women face the most obstacles when it comes to making it in American society.

In rap, however, it seems that white women have the biggest challenge to be a success since they're often criticized for wanting to spit.

Travis Barker's 17-year-old daughter, Alabama Barker has gotten some backlash for being a rapper, and she defended herself on TikTok, according to People.

She did it by posting photos of being around famous rappers like Nicki Minaj when her father's band Blink-182 was on the “I Am Music II Tour.”

“I’m tired of people saying I don’t know anything about rap music," said Alabama in the now-deleted clip. "So, the first thing that I’m going to point out is this tour. This tour was when I was about 5 years old ... watching her set every day. I knew every lyric  ... Then once I got a little bit older this was another tour that I was on. It was Blink and Wayne. Every night I would watch the Wayne show when I was like 11 years old.”

“I know I am privileged, and I’m beyond grateful for that and blessed," she added. "It’s not OK for people to make fun of or disrespect any culture at all. So, if me being a rapper bugs you, then you can just keep moving and stop commenting."
