Geno Sims says in 2011 he entered into a contract to be A$AP Rocky's exclusive personal manager.
At which point he began steering Rocky's burgeoning career, and negotiating deals with brands like Adidas and Samsung. For all this, Sims says he wasn't paid.
He's now suing Rocky (Rakim Mayers) for $850,000. Sims claims during the years he worked with A$AP he never got monthly accounting reports on Rocky's income, and never received a single document from A$AP regarding the money he'd been making -- and Sims was entitled to a commission on.
The trial began in Manhattan Supreme Court this week. Rocky showed up in court to ask the judge to seal the lawsuit, arguing he was a private person and shouldn't have details about his career, finances and personal life in the public record.
Sims is listed as the executive producer on A$AP's 2013 album Long.Live. A$AP.
