A$AP Rocky Blames Soulja Boy & The Internet For the Decline Of Rap; SB Fires Back

The way A$AP Rocky sees it, rap music is stuck in a place of immaturity and he knows why.

“Rap is in its adolescence and it’s been stuck here since Soulja Boy," he said in Interview magazine, where he also talked about the day that A$AP Yams passed away. "Before, everybody looked 35 and up. When Lil Wayne and Jay-Z and T.I. and Jeezy and Ross was on, rappers looked old. Like, we had Lil’ Bow Wow and that was it. That all changed with the Internet and self-releasing. Now, rap is stuck in this braggadocious, adolescent space. It’s not as mature ... There’s a responsibility to put people on the right path.”

Is Rocky on to something here? Has the Internet made rap music too kiddie-like?

Soulja has already responded to Rocky's slander.
