A$AP Rocky's trial in Sweden started on Tuesday morning, and he's pleaded not guilty to assault.
Rocky has been in jail for almost a month after getting into a fight in Stockholm. A lot of people from the President of the United States on down have been calling for his release, and a number of rappers like Tyler, the Creator said they'd boycott the European country.
Rocky's lawyer said the rapper was acting in self-defense during the fight because he thought his bodyguard was in danger. There's one point in the publically available clip of the altercation where you can see one of the much smaller men Rocky's fighting with strike his bodyguard with headphones.
Rocky's lawyer also denied A$AP stomped his alleged victim with broken glass on his shoe. He said there was a broken bottle on the ground, and the rapper didn't know it got on his shoe.
The trial is expected to end by Thursday. If Rocky is found guilty, he will be sentenced next week. He could face up to two years, but the prosecutor is expected to ask for less time.
