Charlamagne Tha God and comedian Lil Duval have been catching some heat from the transgender community after comments Duval made on The Breakfast Club recently.
"Shout out to all the trannys out there," said Duval during his interview, which Charlamagne and co-host Angela Yee found pretty funny.
why are [black] men so obsessed with being ignorant? idegaf about political correctness, but it's this fixation on this narrative. pic.twitter.com/U94iUB2o4k

Then DJ Envy asked Duval what he would do if he slept with a woman, and found out she was a man afterwards.
"This might sound messed up, and I don't care, she dying," Duval answered.[Related: Bobby Valentino exposed because he didn’t pay transgender escort.]
Even though Charlamagne told the comedian that his words were wrong that didn't stop the backlash. In fact, #BoycottTheBreakfastClub starting trending shortly after. A few people also protested Charlamagne when he appeared at the Politcon in California after the incident.
"We are not a joke," one person screamed. "Trans people are not a joke."

A few days before Duval's interview, writer and transgender rights activist Janet Mock was on The Breakfast Club, and some people called Charlamagne a hypocrite for having her on and then allowing Duval to say he'd kill someone from the transgender community.
You can see that conversation between Char and that angry Twitter user below. You can also see a response from Duval about the situation.
How tf you play in Janet's face like that just a few days ago only to laugh at someone threatening to kill trans wmn? @cthagod.

We don't have a remote that controls what people say. I really wish y'all gave Janet Mock's interview this kind of attention. SMH

We have to be clear: this shit isn't a joke. This shit contributes to the violence and murders and deaths of trans people.

allowed Janet to be misgendered. You laughed. You objectified her. You held up her book to be joked at. The whole thing was a joke to you?
