When Bow Wow posted footage of fans chasing him earlier this week, a lot of folks didn't believe it was real.
Why? Because the 30-year-old has become known for faking the funk, as Main Source's Large Professor put it. Most recently when he lied about taking a private jet to New York.
In an interview with TMZ, Bow claims the whole chasing thing was real.
"Our tour buses was parked, like, not really where they was supposed to be and I just remember being at the top of the loading dock with Jermaine [Dupri], and Jermaine is like 'Yo, you cannot go out there.' I'm like 'Look, I'm not about to stand in the loading dock all day. We gotta get to the bus.' So I told him that I'm gonna try to run around the crowd and he's like 'Good luck.'"The retired rapper then insisted that he didn't pay those people to chase him, and they were genuinely excited to see him.
"I had to gradually walk through the crowd first," he claimed. "It was smooth until one grabbed my shirt and I said 'Okay, I might as well make a dash, because there was a whole other gate that was in front of us that you guys never see that was full of kids. So when I started running, I look back. One started running, two, then three, then eight, then 12, then 20. Then it was like, alright we gotta go."Bow also talked about the infamous private jet incident.
"I was kind of laughing with it, because I never said I was on that specific plane," he explained. "I said 'New York bound.'"Here's the thing: Whether those people were really chasing Bow or not isn't the point. The fact that he feels the need to constantly prove himself is what comes off as corny. Some may also consider him a real "try-hard," which is never a good thing to be.
