50 Cent Talks Paying $800 In Rent While Having $38 Million In The Bank

by Daryl Nelson

Remember when 50 Cent bought Mike Tyson's old house in Farmington, Connecticut?

According to a recent interview the rapper had with writer Brian J. Roberts, he didn't buy the mansion to just ball out, there was a specific reason behind the purchase.

"My first run, the Rock The Mic Tour, I came back, I had $38 million in my account," said 50. "And all I had was a two-bedroom apartment that was $800 a month. So if you don't spend it, you know the IRS is gonna take it. So I needed the expenses. So I ended up buying Mike Tyson's home in Farmington."

Buying the house ultimately led to bankruptcy.  But Fif is doing OK these days.
