50 Cent was a recent guest on The Morning Hustle and talked about Verzuz.
In his opinion, the online battle series made sense when people were quarantining at the start of COVID-19, but not now since there's more to do outside due to certain restrictions being lifted.
"Verzuz showed up and was the hottest thing," said Fif. "I was paying attention to it and watching it like everybody else ... Soon as we come back outside I'm like, I don't know why we're still doing [Verzuz]."
Fif then said that Jeezy only participated in his Verzuz with Gucci Mane because he had to.
"I think when they did the Jeezy, Gucci Mane [Verzuz], I think that that was desperation on Jeezy's part trying to sell a record," 50 explained. "But I think that's what that was leading up to it because they looked at how much a catalog would sell and how much exposure you'll have 'cause he was releasing a record at that point. Other than that, I don't know why you would do that."
When asked if Jeezy's ploy worked, 50 had a pointed response.
"No, the record didn't sell."
50 is correct. The Recession 2 did 28K in its first week.
