50 Cent won't be getting revenge on Rick Ross in court after the "In Da Club" lawsuit he filed against his longtime rival was dismissed without merit.
In 2015, 50 sued Ross for $2 million for using "In Da Club" on his mixtape Renzel Remixes. The suit was an odd move, given how the whole mixtape thing works. Fif tried to legally justify the move by arguing that Ross was specifically using the remix to promote his retail album Black Market.
That questionable argument isn't why the suit just got tossed out. Instead, the judge ruled 50 does not own the copyright or master recordings for "In Da Club" -- Shady/Aftermath Records does -- so he had no right to sue in the first place.
