50 Cent Explains Why He He Dismissed JAY-Z's "4:44" Album

by HHL JT

50 Cent dismissed JAY-Z's 2017 album 4:44 as "golf course music."

That was months ago. But he addressed that criticism last night on Conan after the late-night host brought it up.

"Hip Hop culture is connected to youth culture. This is grown man stuff going on," 50 said of 4:44.  "The kids are going to bring the new innovative stuff. He just had .. the maturity bleed off into the material. So you look and go 'It's cool for me in my car, but the kids ... I don't see them actually listening to it.'"

Well, that's a measured response.

However, Fif couldn't help but follow that up with a few new jabs, arguing that Hov was talking down to people on the album and that he felt like the Fresh Prince's pretty, conservative cousin Carlton Banks when he listened to it.

"That's how I feel, Jay," 50 said after admitting he hasn't told Hov what he thinks of his album to his face.
