21 Savage Turned Himself Into The Authorities Last Night; Still Could Be Deported

Last night, 21 Savage turned himself in to DeKalb County authorities on a warrant for drug and weapon possession.  He was able to post bail and was then released.

Savage's attorney Charles Kuck said in a statement that the rapper hadn't been aware of the warrant, which stems from an arrest during Super Bowl week in 2019, until recently.  During that arrest, a handgun was found in Savage's car and a bottle he tossed from the vehicle tested positive for codeine.

Savage was notoriously detained by ICE agents that evening and revealed to be a British citizen.

Savage's lawyer also believes ICE is behind his latest arrest, and they may still be planning to try to deport him.

“The warrant appears to have been sought at the behest of ICE, as the warrant was issued in the eve of an Immigration Court hearing in Mr. Joseph’s deportation proceeding, and is based upon events that transpired on the evening that ICE arrested Mr. Joseph over 2 and one half years ago,” Kuck said in a statement.

Savage -- whose tour with J. Cole starts tonight in Miami -- will have a hearing over his immigration status on November 1.  He's been attempting to get a Green Card.
