21 Savage threw a Freaknik-themed party for his 29th birthday.
The folks behind the annual Atlanta event -- which returned in 2019 after a 20-year absence -- are now threatening to sue Savage for doing so without crediting them.
Spending over a million to revive a brand, fighting negative public perception and proving we can do it 2 years with no issues, comes at a cost. We can't let others just infringe on that. So know when you hear them talk about we tried to work it out very easily beforehand 😔

Sucks we gonna have to sue them when all we asked that they acknowledged us since it was a free event and they declined," typed the Freaknit Twitter page. To use Freaknik you have to have permission by the trademark holder All parties, concerts, live perf, apparel, anything ent is protected under our federal reg trademark "Freaknik." We can charge a license fee but said it's free, for the culture Just acknowledge US. They said no.
Savage responded to the threat of a lawsuit in typical savage fashion.
