2 Chainz is setting up a big 2022.
Dope Don't Sell Itself -- his final "trap" album --drops next week.
Later in the year, he's coming with ColleGrove 2, the follow-up to his 2016 project with Lil Wayne.
As he explained to DJ Akademiks, this time it's going to be different.
"We were in the studio together. I think the last time we were in the studio together maybe twice. This time, we’ve been in the studio together multiple times working on this project. Whether going back in after we’ve done something or whatever.
“I feel superexcited about this fucking project because it don’t sound like nothing I’ve ever heard before. And doing something like that with Wayne, it’s welcoming, it’s warming and it’s going to be accepted.”
Because of Wayne's since-resolved label issues, the original ColleGrove was credited as a 2 Chainz album and Wayne wasn't on every song.
This one seems like more of a true collaborative effort.
