Earlier this year, Trinidad James released the track 'Def Jam' as part of the 30 year anniversary celebration for the seminal Hip Hop label.
A few months later, Def Jam dropped James, who they had signed to a reported $2 million deal in December of 2012.
However that hasn't stopped the Trinidadian-born emcee for remixing 'Def Jam' with Twista and Young Scooter. Give it a listen:
"I be a nigga that always stays real/Being a real nigga got my a deal," James still raps in the remix.
What do you think of the remix? And do you think James will finally reach his potential now that he's free from Def Jam?
