Tech N9ne doesn't let a calendar year go by without putting out music, whether it's a solo album, collaborative label project, or EP. Last week, he dropped his 15th studio album Special Effects. Because of his much anticipated 'Speedom' collaboration with Eminem, it was his highest profile album to date.

So far it's been his most successful. According to HDD, Special Effects did 63,245 sales plus streams in its first week, which is good for fourth on the album chart . By contrast, All 6s & 7s did 56K, Something Else had slightly over 58K and Strangeulation did 36K.

Tech's first week numbers are very similar to what Yelawolf's album Love Story (61,360) sold a few weeks ago, and better than what Tyler, The Creator’s Cherry Bomb (56,172) and Action Bronson’s Mr. Wonderful (49,000) did earlier in April in their debut weeks.

What did you think of Special Effects?
