There's been a theory that Troy Ave opened fire backstage at Irving Plaza last May after confronting outspoken podcaster Taxstone, who has been rough on Troy in the past.
That theory just get a huge boast this morning when U.S. Marshals and the New York and New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Taxstone in Brooklyn on a federal felon in possession of a firearm warrant. Sources tell NBC News that Taxstone was also being sought by the NYPD in relation to the Irving Plaza shooting.
Troy Ave's bodyguard Ronald McPhatter was shot killed in the Irving Plaza incident and two others were injured. Troy Ave was arrested and hit with attempted murder and gun charges. He pleaded not guilty.
Troy's lawyer Scott Leemon has argued there's more to the story.
"The video does not show everything nor explain what happened in the VIP room before Troy came running out, as a victim, after he was shot," Leemon said in June.
Taxstone was last seen threatening manager/Piru Wack 100 over the Soulja Boy-Chris Brown beef.
