We're not quite sure what to make of this "insider" report from the website AllHipHop, but here goes:
According to them, Kanye West has completed his upcoming untitled album, but Roc-A-Fella is reluctant to release it because the singles he has been dropping haven't exactly set the world on fire.
Did Kanye West already finish his album and there is an issue? Apparently, this is the case. The issue? The Roc Nation team allegedly has the whole thing, but won’t put it out since there is no furor over the music KW has been releasing.Hmmm, on the one hand, the singles Kanye's been dropping have taken a back seat to who he's been working with, his Grammy behavior, his wifey's behavior and his Yeezys.
Also, when we watched him on SNL Sunday night, we were struck by how much better a song 'Jesus Walks' is then the two new songs ('Only One' and 'Wolves') which followed it in the medley.
Add the numbers Drake is doing, and we can envision a scenario in which Roc executives are nervous that 'Ye's sales will look small in comparison. And that will play into all the bad press Kanye continues to accumulate, ultimately sinking his album.
On the other hand, it would shock us if Kanye would take his album being delayed without some kind of Wayne-like public rant.
So we're thinking it's still more likely we'll be get a surprise Kanye album tomorrow than this rumor turns out to be true.
