Lil Durk is in trouble again. The 22-year old emcee (real name Durk Banks)was arrested early Wednesday morning after police spotted him inside a Chicago-area residence with two firearms.
The gang squad had come to the Orland Hills home to investigate a homicide. A woman let them in the front door and that's when the cops saw the Def Jam artist and his alleged weapons, which were placed on a kitchen island.
"I got those pipes (guns) 'cause (expletive) always be tryin' to take my bands (money)," Durk said, according to the police report.
The cops confiscated a Glock .45-caliber handgun with a magazine and 11 live rounds and a Springfield .45-caliber handgun with a magazine and 13 live rounds. There is was no indication of whether or not the bullets were in the guns.
In August, Durk plead guilty and received probation in another gun case stemming from a 2013 arrest. During his sentence he had vowed never to be in court again. In 2011, he had served about six months in jail on a what is now a third gun charge.
"He’s upset, of course," his attorney Sam Adam Jr. said of Durk's latest legal issue. "We feel very confident that he did not possess a gun."
Whether he can convince a prosecutor that will be the difference between more probation for Durk and the possibility of many years in prison. But no matter what happens, Durk will be in court again.
