Kareem 'Biggs' Burke On Why Jay Z Didn't Hit Nas With 'The Bridge Is Over' Beat

The Jay Z-Nas beef is arguably the greatest in rap history.

It escalated with Hov calling out Nas in 'Takeover', then Nas came full force with 'Ether'. Jay responded with 'Super Ugly', a freestyle over 'Got Ur Self A...' and "Bad Intentions.'

However, Hov's Roc-A-Fella partner Kareem 'Biggs' Burke wanted Jay's freestyle to be over the beat of the classic diss song 'The Bridge Is Over'.

That would make a lot of sense, since on the original 'The Bridge Is Over' KRS-One was coming for rappers from the Queensbridge project -- where Nas also famously hails.

Biggs explained why it didn't happen in an interview with Vlad TV.

"I [told Jay Z] 'Yo, 'The Bridge Is Over.' He was like, 'Yeah, that's it.' But when we called down to the studio, ['Super Ugly'] already went to Hot 97. So, they already started playing it so it was already, you know, too late."
According to Biggs, Jay would never even lay a verse over 'The Bridge Is Over''s beat.

Do you think the Nas/Hov beef would be viewed differently if Jay had jumped on 'The Bridge Is Over'?
