Kayne West's dispute with JAY-Z was about more than just the imaginary "killers" Hov was allegedly sending after 'Ye.
According to TMZ, Kanye has been unhappy about his financial situation with JAY-Z 's Tidal streaming service for a long time.
Last month, Kanye's lawyer sent a letter to Tidal claiming the company owed him over him $3 million and was in breach of contract. Lawyers for both sides tried to resolve the conflict but failed. Two weeks ago Kanye's lawyer fired off a second letter declaring that the contract was over.
Tidal is now threatening to sue 'Ye for backing out of the deal
This all happened before Hov's album 4:44 -- which has some 'Ye bashing lyrics -- dropped. Kanye didn't hear the album before it was released.

At the heart of the dispute is a bonus 'Ye was supposed to get because he brought 1.5 million new subscribers to Tidal with his The Life Of Pablo album. Kanye says he never got it, and also says he didn't get reimbursed for the music videos he did for the album.
Tidal counters that 'Ye didn't deliver the music videos in the time frame demanded by the contract.
Now it looks like the crown will be on opposite sides in the courtroom.
