If you want to listen to Kanye West's new album The Life Of Pablo legally, you're going to have to get TIDAL.
The streaming service has had exclusive albums before. Like Rihanna's Anti. But those were only exclusive for a short period of time. It's unclear if 'Ye's album will ever be available anywhere but on TIDAL.
This is bad news for West fans who don't like TIDAL. Whether it be because of its $9.99 (or 19.99 for lossless) a month cost, or the tone-deaf way Jay Z and his super friends rolled out the service.
Kayne West addressed TIDAL's haters during a recent media scrum.
Will exclusives with artist like Kanye (and presumably now T.I.) get people to "like" TIDAL?
Sources connected to TIDAL have told TMZ that subscriptions have jumped from one million to 2.5 million in the last couple weeks, because of The Life Of Pablo.
It remains to be seen if those numbers are accurate, or if the 1.5 million new subscribers stay on after their 30 day free trial period is over.
