Jim Jones and Max B have had a rocky relationship.

Jones signed B to his ByrdGang record label in 2006. But Max jumped ship to Jones's NYC rival French Montana in 2008, and Max was beefing with Jones in 2009 when he was found guilty of murder conspiracy and robbery charges and sentenced to 75 years.

Jones spoke on Max B in an interview with Rap Radar.

"That's a chapter in my life that's been gone," he said of Max B. "I don't even think about it no more. It's nothing for me to talk about when that person is locked up."
Then he added that he had nothing to do with the trouble Max got into, and explained that if B had been able to stay out of jail his "wavy" musical style might have had at the top of the charts.

"He had a chance to be as big as Drake right now. A lot of these artists right now that are singing and being very melodic," said Jones. "A lot of that came from that boy's whole catalog. Wiz Khalifa'll tell you right now that he studied his music word for word and took his wave and put it on.
