It's been said Prince's vault of unreleased music could produce albums for the next 100 years.
Jay Z wants to be the guy releasing those albums.
The TIDAL boss recently flew Prince's sister Tyka Phillips to New York and made her an offer of $40 million for the streaming rights to the late singer's unreleased catalog.
Prince's last album, 2015's Hit n Run Phase Two, was a TIDAL exclusive.
If Phillips decides to sell to Hov, she will also need the approval of Prince's half-siblings and the trust managing the estate.
Others are expected to bid on the streaming rights.
