Prodigy of Mobb Deep died today at the age of 42.
He had been open about his struggles with Sickle Cell, and his publicist confirmed that he had been hospitalized with complications from the disease a few days ago.
Alongside his Mobb Depp partner Havoc, Prodigy helped define the NYC sound of the 90s with their classic street tales The Infamous, Hell on Earth and Murda Muzik.
Hip Hop has been mourning the loss of the legend since it came to light this afternoon. Here's some of the reaction.
